Happy New Year to you! As I mentioned in this post about New Year Goal Setting, I like to take January 1st to really hone in on my goals & intentions for the year. This post is going to be basically a continuation of that one, as I’ve already listed out a few goals I have in mind. I am going to put them here again so everything relating to my 2023 goals is in one place.
My 2023 Goals
- Execute www.besstworkouts.com website redesign – this is something I’ve had on the back burner and I want to make it happen hopefully in Q1 of 2023! If you have any recommendations for website design drop them in the comments! I may try to tackle it myself, but I think I’d probably prefer to delegate this task.
- Start talking with someone about my anxiety – I don’t know if this is Postpartum Anxiety or not, as I have always struggled with anxiety but I do know that it has started to feel overwhelming. I used to be able to manage it much better than I feel I do now. So one of the steps I want to take to manage it is to find a therapist I can talk to. I’ve heard good things about the website Better Help, where you can find a licensed therapist online, so I think I may start there. I think we can all benefit from therapy! *edited to add: I started therapy through Better Help about 4 weeks after initially writing this and it’s something I’m already really glad I’ve taken the step to do.
- Do 3 unassisted pull-ups in a row – this goal is just a fun (albeit hard) physical challenge I am setting for myself. I’m just going to say 3 sort of arbitrarily but I know 3 is harder than it sounds, especially because I am still regaining some strength I lost during my pregnancy! I am ordering some special resistance bands to help with this process. I’ll document it and keep you posted on how it goes!
- Grow the Besst Workouts community – I don’t know if you’ve been able to tell over on Instagram through my content, but since having Tegan I’ve really made the conscious decision to focus more on sharing healthy lifestyle & fitness content primarily. That’s the content I love to create & share and help people with…and quite frankly even if I wanted to do all the other stuff (fashion, home, etc.) I simply don’t have the time I used to with two kids at home! So “niching down” has had to happen but I feel it’s the right path for me. I love being able to share workouts and helping other women feel stronger, happier, & more confident in themselves…so I hope to continue to grow the Besst Workouts community and reach more women than ever before.
- Spend more 1-1 time with Emma. I’m currently spending a ton of 1-1 time with Tegan, but basically all of my time with Emma is also with baby sis. So my goal is to do something fun with her, just the two of us, at least once a month.
- Don’t neglect my neck! I’ve struggled off & on for a few years with neck pain. I’ve finally found some daily exercises and stretches that help a ton, so I want to commit to doing these every morning.
- Morning routine: speaking of the morning…I want to recharge my morning routine that fell by the wayside when I had Tegan. Its going to include daily morning devotional + prayer time, reading an article or listening to a short podcast about health & fitness so I can continue learning and bringing y’all the best content possible, and doing my ice face roller and morning skin care because it makes me feel good!! I may expand on it eventually but I don’t want to overwhelm myself and then not be able to achieve it and feel down. So starting there!! I only need 15-20 minutes realistically to get those things done so I’m hopeful I can make them happen.
- Mini work goals:
- Put up at least 2 helpful/informative posts on my Instagram each week + at least 1 new workout post on my Besst Workouts Instagram account
- Pick back up my Besst Workouts motivation email. This was something that I was doing weekly prior to having Tegan but it took a pause after I had her. I would like to get this going again, at least once a month if not weekly.
- Share a daily health, fitness, or lifestyle find with y’all that I think you’ll love.
- Sign longterm partnerships with at least one or two new brands that will provide my community with the ability to further improve their health and fitness
If I think of anything else, I will update it here! I’d love to hear of what goals you have for this year. Happy 2023!
xo,
Bess
