Happy New Year!! I *love* this time of year (and, in fact, all of January) because it just feels so fresh with opportunity, so weightless, so free…the year is yours to create. January is also my birth month, so I love it for that reason, too! I do like to take time to set goals for the year ahead…I almost envision every year as a step in becoming a better version of myself than I was the previous year. I don’t mean just in a professional goal-achieving sort of way (I’m a Capricorn so it’s sort of my nature to be that way) but all around. A better person both personally, emotionally, spiritually, professionally…all the things. So I wanted to share a few of my New Year’s Resolutions/Goals for 2022 with you because 1-I like to share these things and put them out into the universe to give them “life” and for accountability, and 2- maybe one of them will resonate with you and you can do it, too!
New Year’s Resolutions/Goals for 2022
- Try at least 2 new dinner recipes per month. We definitely easily get into the habit of cooking the same things over and over, and while I do try to throw in a new recipe here or there, it wasn’t consistent and so I’m committing to at least 2 new ones each month. I will definitely be sharing them with you and I plan to recap them all at the end of the year as well, so we will have at least 24 new recipes we can reference anytime!
- Read at least 1 book per month. Fun fact: I actually read 42 books in 2021…43 if you count the potty-training book (lol). So I don’t think I will have any trouble with this but I want to put it out there to keep my reading momentum going!
- Read the Bible in 365 days. I actually started a new plan on the Bible app this morning (January 1st) called “The Bible in One Year” so I will do that every day for the next year!
- Schedule one day per month as a professional planning day. I love the energy that a new year brings, and so I want to take that with me month after month in 2022. To do that, I am going to schedule and dedicate one day at the end of each month to plan out the following month in as much detail as I possibly can…I do best with a plan and so I think my future self will thank me for this!
- Unplug more. I am planning to take more days off of social media where I don’t get on my phone for IG or anything for a full 24 hours. I don’t have a set schedule for this but I plan to just listen to my heart because I can usually tell when my soul is feeling tired from constantly being “on” and I will step away whenever I feel that at a bare minimum, but I am going to aim for at least once every couple weeks.
- More home projects! I wrote a separate post here listing out everything I want to do this year in our home, and I am planning to share it all with you! Home projects, decor, & tips are just things that brings me a lot of joy and so I’m excited to share more of that with you all. We spend so much time in our home…it should be our little oasis and so I’m really looking forward to doing that even more this year
Do you have any New Year’s Resolutions/Goals for 2022?

Bess
