Last week on Instagram I asked if you’d be interested in me putting together a post sharing how to make athleisure work appropriate and your response was a resounding yes. It was my daily goal to be as comfortable as possible at my corporate job–I mean that hasn’t change now that I work for myself from home–but I of course had a certain dress code by that I needed to abide by and therefore I figured out ways to styled athleisure pieces like leggings and other comfy pieces so that I could wear them to work!
The tunic I’m wearing above is still available (I personally have 3 colors) and is PERFECT for work. I think you could pull this off at just about any job I can think of. Long and covers the bum, comfy, polished, and on sale! I have also worn them out to date night & church. They’re just a really versatile piece. Not athleisure but highly recommend for your wardrobe in general! Stock up on these babies.
I’ve styled a few looks below for and linked to everything so you can shop and put the looks together.
My look above, for example, was a go-to of mine. Leggings + tunic + bag (LOVE this tote, lasts forever) boots (similar here and here) + found some blazers below (mine is old and I can’t find it online):
Incorporating Athleisure for Work Outfits
Pumps or loafers, a soft crewneck sweater, and these pants make a chic but comfy office look.

Leggings, booties, a crisp white top, and a sophisticated longline cardigan is another option and easy to replicate with various cardigans.
Similarly, leggings + booties + tunic sweater + waist belt is effortless yet appropriate.
A sweater dress with boots & leggings is a really easy choice and perfect for the holidays too!
Track pants & a moto jacket easily pull double duty between activewear and workwear.
My favorite tunic + cozy sweater over leggings with some cute flats to dress it up. Love this tote bag too.
Throw a blazer over your favorite long sleeve activewear top + leggings. Add boots & a bag and you’re good to go.
You’ll probably feel like you’re wearing pajamas in these pants, but they look like higher end wide leg trousers that are totally work appropriate, especially when paired with a cropped cardigan & heels.

Athleta makes some clothes designed for work but I don’t think I’d actually want to work out in them…so they aren’t technically “athleisure” in my mind since they don’t do both. But I wanted to share in case you like them or they just give you some inspiration on outfits. Lululemon also has pieces more geared towards work you can check out pieces here. They are pricey too, like more than what I’d pay for actual activewear so again just wanted to share in case you find some inspo with these looks or can snag something on sale! It may be worth it to invest in a couple pieces here and there. I mixed in some other pieces from other retailers as well to mix more high & low items.

I hope this has helped give you some idea on how to make athleisure work appropriate. We spend a ton of our time at our jobs so in my opinion, being comfortable is key. If you put together an outfit and wear it to work, be sure to tag me on Instagram @besshcarter so I can see what you put together!
