As a lifelong athlete turned lover of running & working out, I’ve felt like I’ve constantly been on the search for the right deodorant. So clearly I needed something to combat how much I sweat! But not just that, combine that with my working adult life when I have to give presentations to groups of people regularly, and then my situation changes to where I need something that was also going to help me deal with stress! Giving presentations at work are getting more normal for me, but when I first started they would make me incredibly nervous. And when you’re nervous, you sweat. (Or at least I do!) And also, working out makes you sweat (duh) but your body also views working out as a “stressor”, so there ya go! Double the sweat from all those stressors.
Plenty of deodorants target those two things individually but who wants to have to wear different types of deodorants? So I turned my attention to Walgreens and their extensive selection of deodorants for all types of needs. Some people care about smell, some about sweat, and some about sensitivity. Walgreens has dry sprays, which go on instantly dry to the skin if you hate that “wet” feeling under your arms. There are the care deodorants for sensitive skin, and the Motion Activated types that protect for up to 48 hours with Motionsense® technology. Lastly, there’s the Clinical Protection deodorants, and the kind that I ultimately found were right for me!
My personal preference is the Dove Clinical Protection – Prescription strength wetness protection with moisturizers. It has the 48 hour odor protection and anti-perspirant. I put it on every night when I get out of the shower, and it stands up through long work days AND my workouts. And sometimes I’m doing my workouts over my lunch hour, so that is saying something!
Not everyone’s skin and needs are the same and therefore what you need out of a deodorant might be different from what I need. I encourage you to go to the Walgreens site to read about each product, or pop to your local store and try them out! I find the site to be very cleanly laid out and super user friendly. Do your research and check out reviews online too!

Finding the right deodorant seems like a simple enough thing, but sometimes when it comes down to it, it’s more challenging than you expect to find the right one to fit your needs. I’m glad the selection at Walgreens has all types to choose from. I know the Clinical Protection is best for me right now, but you never know what you might need in the future! Bodies change and needs change. But I’ll know I can go to my local Walgreens to find exactly what I need and get great deals in the process 🙂
