Accepting Yourself, Showing Up, and Self-Love

Hey you! Today I just wanted to write a short note about the importance of accepting yourself and loving yourself exactly where you are right now.  The failures, the short-comings, the things the need work, along with the strengths, the positives, and the successes!  Sometimes you just need an unsolicited reminder.

This is your reminder to just keep SHOWING UP.  On any path, it can be hard to see the small successes you achieve everyday and if they are adding up. Let me tell you…THEY ARE.  YOU are doing great things, and don’t let anything you see on TV, social media, magazines, or anywhere tell you otherwise.  Focus on you and the things you are doing.  Put blinders on to things going on around you that don’t impact you unless you allow them to impact you.

It’s hard not to fall into that comparison game when you see other people that you perceive as more successful, happier, or just better than you.  I always try to remember that no matter what someone’s life looks like from the outside, you don’t know what sort of issues that they themselves may be dealing with.  It reminds me of this quote:

“If we all threw our problems in a pile and saw everyone else’s, we’d grab ours back.”

― Regina Brett

I find I am happiest when I just do the things I love, make the best decisions I can for myself, and treat myself with a little grace when things don’t necessarily go as planned.  And when all else fails, I remind myself that I am always loved and accepted by God and truly nothing else matters.  Instead of pouring energy into worry or anxiety, try to put it into focusing on Him.  “I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace.  In this world you will have trouble.  But take heart!  I have overcome the world.” – John 16:33

I challenge you to give yourself one compliment every time you look in the mirror this week.  It’s a fun way to give yourself some self-love and bring to the forefront your amazing qualities rather than dwelling on the ones you think aren’t good enough!

Thank you as always for being here!! If you have any positivity or good vibes you’d like to share, please leave them in the comments 🙂
